義大新人投手黃勝雄季中5月底至6月份，先發3場都吞敗，合計18局22安失9分、防禦率來到4.50，他坦言，6月份比較疲勞，休息一陣子後，才找回手感。

黃勝雄說：「6月份投得很疲勞，大概休息了20天，期間都在跑步、加強下盤力量。」

下半季黃勝雄拿出成績，證明自己訓練有成，首戰對上獅隊，繳出5.2局5安8K失2分的好投內容，奪本季第6勝。

不過本季對戰Lamigo，黃勝雄表現都不太理想，對戰5場2勝3敗、防禦率4.97，在近一場出賽對上Lamigo，雖然表現回穩僅失1分責失分，卻因隊友單場3次失誤丟掉8分，吞下本季第5敗，黃勝雄表示，因為隊友頻頻失誤後，自己也有受到影響，接連被敲安。

談到明星賽，黃勝雄還說要是投到2局，希望把球數壓在20球以下，他開玩笑地說：「反正他們一定會想要打出去，我就丟直球跟他們對決。」

黃勝雄本季先發14場，戰績6勝5敗，防禦率3.72。
