如果你是一個建築師、機殼構造師，那麼你可能會用到3D建模的工具，運用到市面上常見的3D建模軟體，如AutoCAD、Maya、3DsMax等。而這類的軟體的價格，就只有一個「貴」字了得，而且如果要取得軟體實在不易，而且只能在Windows上執行。而Blender則是一個開放源始碼的免費3D建模工具，一般常見的功能也幾乎都有，不過比較貧乏的就是中文的教學，而且軟體是英文介面。不過既然是免費而且開放程式碼，又是可攜版、跨平台，那麼不妨來試試它，說不定你工作、作業上的小問題，不需要用到像Maya這種龐大的怪物囉！
