冬季嚴寒天氣壓抑了美國經濟，但並未讓其脫離復甦的軌道。

根據摩根士丹利銀行分析師魏斯曼(Ted Wieseman)指出，冬季嚴寒天氣壓抑了美國經濟，但並未讓其脫離復甦的軌道。

今年初，美國經濟遲緩，第一季國內生產毛額(GDP)可能緊縮，意味2014年成長可能無法達到許多經濟學家預估的3%。甚至，2014年的經濟成長可能低於2013年的2.3%成長率。

但中期而言，魏斯曼仍相當看好。已有明顯證據顯示，經濟已自冬季月份的遲緩速度反彈。他預期下半年成長率將達3%。成長加速只是延後了一季，而非脫離了成長軌道。

他預期年底前經濟成長將加速，係基於諸多因素：包括財政拖累減少，家庭債務負擔持續改善，消費者財富增加，房屋需求上升，及資本投資的累積需求。
