駐美代表處官員今天投書華盛頓郵報指出，台灣對亞洲整體經濟的重要性，及在TPP未來諮商中的關鍵角色，不應被忽略。

駐美代表處新聞組長王億投書華郵（WashingtonPost）指出，台灣是全球第18大經濟體，也是亞太經濟合作會議（APEC）21個成員中，第10大經濟體，台灣在2013年是美國第12大貿易夥伴，但台灣未參與跨太平洋夥伴協定（TPP）。

王億寫到，台灣的經貿地位不僅是TPP討論擴大成員範圍的考量因素，歐巴馬政府官員也同意有關台灣經貿重要性的評估。

美國國務院亞太助卿羅素（Daniel Russel），4月3日在聯邦參議院外交委員會亞太小組聽證會曾說：「美方歡迎台灣有意參與TPP。」

王億表示，台灣對亞洲整體經濟的重要性，以及在TPP未來諮商中的關鍵角色，不應被忽略。(中央社)
