隨著巴西世界盃足球賽腳步逼近，將舉行7場賽事（包括決賽）的里約熱內盧為因應可能發生的群眾示威，軍警聯手設立特別護衛行動中心。

護衛中心將配合市政府行動中心，在舉行賽事當天出動直升機、定點警衛和偵察兵，隨同每個國家代表隊來回旅館與足球場，疏通交通，避免發生道路堵塞。

區域防衛督導處副指揮官泰謝拉（Julio CesarTeixeira）上校指出，每個國家代表隊來回旅館與足球場至少有2條路線選擇，出發前會有護衛中心人員先行一步，察看交通狀況。

去年教宗方濟各出席里約天主教世界青年大會，保安措施出現失誤，教宗座車因市中心塞車而動彈不得，信徒蜂擁而上的一幕，成了國際笑話，這是除了對抗可能發生群眾示威外，促使巴西設立護衛中心的另一因素。

未來4個月，2500名陸軍與海軍士兵也將駐守里約最大的麥爾貧民社區（Mare），以防止警察與貧民區犯罪分子發生衝突，場面失控。(中央社)
