日研發新型「萬能細胞」　醫療應用更廣

日本的理化學研究所研發出類似「人工多能性幹細胞」（iPS細胞）的新型STAP「萬能細胞」，可變成臟器或組織的任何一種細胞，而且比iPS細胞的應用更廣、「製程」更短，未來可望在醫療上廣為運用，該研究也被刊登在將於30日出刊的著名科學期刊《自然》。
 
該研究是由理化學研究所的再生科學總和研究中心主持，以實驗鼠實驗成功。與iPS細胞相比，STAP細胞最短只需兩天就可製成，成功率大幅提高。過去認為「動物的細胞接受外來刺激，也不可能變成萬能細胞」，但這次的實驗卻是由實驗鼠的脾臟細胞接受酸性溶液刺激後實驗成功，也等於顛覆了過去科學界的認識。（李忠謙／綜合外電報導）
