百年媽祖廟逃過火劫　僅差百公尺

台中市平等街1處民宅30日凌晨2點發生火警，造成3人死亡，整棟民宅也被燒毀。已有三百年歷史的萬春宮媽祖廟鄰近發生火警的民宅，險被惡火波及。

據報導，火場旁邊便是三百年歷史的媽祖廟，部分信徒擔心火勢延燒，趕緊搶救眾神明，搬運數十尊神像到對面騎樓下避難，有些信徒則救出重要文獻，消防隊也從廟裡面拿起水柱灑水，避免惡火波及到媽祖廟，在僅差不到一百公尺的距離時，火勢成功被控制住，讓媽祖廟逃過火劫。

媽祖廟30日早上貼出公告表示，隔鄰不幸發生火災憾事，蒙媽祖保佑，媽祖廟人事物一切均安，但媽祖廟須做清潔工作，因此暫停開放。許多信徒看到媽祖廟安好，紛紛鬆了一口氣，直呼媽祖保佑。
