火箭主場迎戰灰熊，首節就積極表現的Terrence Jones，單節進帳10分，幫助火箭以26比23領先。

火箭目前以19勝11敗排名西區第5，聖誕大戰在客場擊敗強敵馬刺，James Harden、林書豪的復出相當關鍵。

雙方上一場交手，是由火箭拿下勝利，本季第2度交手，火箭面對傷兵滿營的灰熊，希望延續贏球氣勢。

比賽開打後，雙方互有往來，Harden第一次出手就命中3分，Terrence Jones展現侵略性，開賽4分多鐘就攻下6分，Jones更有爆扣演出，火箭以13比10領先。

林書豪本節2次出手都沒進，只抓下1籃板，另外發生2次失誤，在首節剩下約3分鐘時下場，換上Omri Casspi，火箭在首節一度領先達8分。

不過，首節尾聲灰熊在禁區展現破壞性，抓下8個進攻籃板，Zach Randolph首節進帳9分6籃板，但領先的依舊是火箭，Jones表現突出，單節進帳10分。
