逾50萬盞耶誕燈火 澳洲家庭創世界紀錄

澳洲坎培拉(Canberra)的一個家庭，在他們位於郊區的住家外掛起超過50萬盞閃亮的耶誕燈泡，成功奪回他們一度失去的金氏世界紀錄(Guinness World Records)寶座。

金氏世界紀錄官員西迪(Chris Sheedy)今天(25日)證實，住在坎培拉的李查茲(Richards)一家人，以在住宅地產上點燃50萬2,165盞閃亮的小燈泡而創下世界紀錄。

這家人是在2001年以33萬1,038盞五顏六色的耶誕燈火，首度進入金氏世界紀錄，但這項紀錄去年遭到紐約拉格蘭奇維爾(LaGrangeville)的一個家庭，以34萬6,283盞燈給刷新了。

為了在佛斯特(Forrest)郊區的住宅外點燈，李查茲一家點燈的電線長度超過50公里，他們將在本週末對大眾開放，藉此進行慈善募款。

這個家庭的男主人大衛．李查茲(David Richards)說，他一直熱愛耶誕節，而他大多數的鄰居都支持這項點燈活動，但自從上次他創下紀錄之後，有些鄰居就不跟他說話了。
