為什麼澳洲隊可以打亞職??

本身很少在看棒球，
不過最近話題很火熱，
所以想來了解一下，
只是不太了解這個比賽的制度，
亞職的全名應該是亞洲職業棒球賽，
也就是說應該是屬於亞洲的球隊都能參賽，
不過澳大利亞似乎不再亞洲好像是在大洋洲(沒記錯的話..)，
所以他們來比賽的原因是因為這賽制隊伍不夠多，
特別邀請其他洲的隊伍來參賽還是有其他原因呢？
