《彭博社》周三 (20日) 報導，根據內情人士指出，歐洲央行正考慮施行前所未見的方針，將存款利率下調至負 0.1％。

不具名消息來源稱，目前商業銀行存於央行的多餘現金利率為 0％，現央行官員們將準備調降到 -0.1％，這將是歐洲央行史上首見的負利率政策。據悉理事會成員們就此概念進行討論，目前尚未達成共識。

央行理事會成員本周將於法蘭克福召開月中會議，已表態負存款利率屬於一種潛力工具，可抵禦通貨緊縮。他們也警告指出，這種史無前例的政策不知道會帶來什麼後果。本月初央行已暫緩削減存款利率，但將借款基準利率下砍至 0.25％ 歷史新低，理事會成員 Jens Weidmann 亦提出警告，反對進一步放鬆貨幣政策。

歐洲央行發言人婉拒對委員會決議做出評論。此消息傳出後，歐元兌美元身價應聲下挫 0.6％，是將近 2 周來最大跌幅，兌日元價格亦挫低。

進一步放寬貨幣政策的舉措，可能會面臨來自歐洲龍頭經濟體德國的壓力，德國央行總裁 Weidmann 受訪時指出，加大寬鬆貨幣政策規模「並不明智」。
