蘋果公司透過外媒發佈聲明，稱少部分iPhone5S的電池存在問題，將為受到影響的用戶更換產品。不過，蘋果大陸公司稱尚未接到召回通知。

根據京華時報報導，蘋果在這份聲明中承認部分iPhone5S的電池存在問題。蘋果公司發言人特雷薩布魯爾稱：『我們最近發現十分有限的一部分iPhone5S可能受到製造問題的影響，導致電池需要花費更長時間才能充滿，或者電量消耗過快。我們正在與受影響的用戶取得聯繫，並將為他們更換新機。』蘋果公司未披露受此影響的iPhone5S數量，但聲明中使用了『幾千部』的表述。

記者隨後致電蘋果大陸公司的客服熱線進行諮詢，客服人員表示，目前蘋果大陸公司並沒有接到有關產品召回的通知，大陸國內的iPhone5S用戶可以放心使用，如果用戶覺得手機有問題，可以到蘋果授權維修中心檢測。如果確有問題，蘋果公司會為用戶維修或更換。
