分析師甚至估計，本周金價將下探每盎司 1250 美元，因市場預期債限僵局有解、安然避開違約，美元反彈走強後將進一步削減黃金的避險地位。

美財經媒體《CNBC》周日（13日）對 18 位分析師、投資經理人進行調查，其中 83% （15位）受訪者認為本周黃金將續跌，僅 11% （2 位）預期將反彈，1 位估計將維持在目前水準。
 
上周金價持續下跌，12 月紐約期金價格單周就縮水了 2.2%；周五紐約 12 月黃金期貨價格下跌 28.70 美元或 2.2％，報每盎司 1268.20 美元，約為近 3 個月低點。

投資機構 Kerr Trading International LLC 總裁 Kevin Kerr 說，一旦債限與政府關門僵局有解，金價就會繼續處於弱勢，「從績效表現而言，黃金已不再是品質保證的投資工具」。

他認為，技術線型顯示金價相當虛弱，若下滑態勢持續，不久後很可能會挫低至 1200 美元。
