外電周四(19日)報導，1位美國白宮官員表示，美國聯準會(Fed)副主席葉倫(Janet Yellen)為總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)在提名下任Fed主席名單中的領先人選。

外電周四(19日)報導，1位美國白宮官員表示，美國聯準會(Fed)副主席葉倫(Janet Yellen)為總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)在提名下任Fed主席名單中的領先人選。

除非有任何意外發展，否則那可能意味著葉倫最快下周將獲得提名。

親近白宮人士本周表示，在前白宮經濟顧問桑默斯(Lawrence Summers)意外退出後，葉倫成為接任下任Fed主席呼聲最高的人選。

除葉倫外，歐巴馬已將候選名單縮小至包括前Fed副主席Donald Kohn。

雖然部分人士揣測，由於桑默斯退出，歐巴馬可能考慮其他候選人，但顯然他的注意力目前在葉倫身上。

選擇葉倫以及早日確認其為領先人選可能反映出白宮希望結束提名程序，因今(2013)年夏天拖延的場面不僅令桑默斯喪失候選人地位，許多觀察家亦表示對Fed造成了傷害。
