人類人工染色體　可治基因疾病

【綜合報導】美國和日本科學家成功在實驗室以化合物合成「人類人工染色體」（Human Artificial Chromosome，HAC），更成功透過基因改造，令老鼠體內每個細胞都有HAC，首次證明這些全人工合成的人類染色體，可在動物身上正常運作，未來技術可望用於基因治療。
 
科學家表示，HAC可當成運載基因的載體，在基因缺陷致病的病人身上，取出皮膚細胞並轉化成幹細胞，加入帶有健康基因的HAC，再移植回病人體內，藉此改正基因缺陷。

科學家指現時發展的主流基因療法是用病毒之類的載體，將基因加插入天然染色體內，但可能會干擾染色體正常運作，HAC則是額外加插的染色體，不會干擾天然染色體。
