通常大跳水是在已經停產為了銷庫存時才會真正大跳水。

至於對方陣營新卡上市或是自家陣營新卡上市如果同價位效能有差很多，價錢通常就會往下跳一階，降價到對應新卡的階段。

像是290x現在已經剩不到一萬，比剛上市便宜很多，如果你是想要他跳到剩4999、5999這種的大概只有等到下一代AMD出來，這代停產後還很多庫存的話就可能會看到銷庫存的大跳水了。

不過通常庫存很多的話表示新一代顯卡有很大的進步（可能是效能或是支援性），這時買舊卡未必真的划算。
