大陸人民銀行副行長易綱在12月21日舉行的大陸經濟年會上表示，今(2014)年以來美元是世界第一強貨幣，人民幣在全世界是第二強，而且人民幣的實際有效匯率是升值的。就關注度最高的外匯市場和人民幣國際化的問題，易綱從幾個角度分享了他的看法。

根據央廣網報導，首先從供求關係上看，大陸國內持有人民幣、美元等各種貨幣，老百姓對外幣的選擇更多，基本具備了『常惠於民』的條件。從技術層面來看，今年以來匯率的彈性加大了，且雙向浮動，今年年初6.06元人民幣兌一美元，四五月份，曾經達到6.25元人民幣兌一美元，9月份人民幣又升值到6.1元左右，雙向波動彈性增加了。

關於人民幣是不是貶值了，易綱表示，到現在為止和年初相比，人民幣兌美元只波動了2％，美元兌歐元的升值超過10％，對日元的升值超過11％，人民幣相對全世界的貨幣還是比較強的。易綱表示，『可以說今年美元是第一強的，人民幣在全世界是第二強貨幣，而且大陸的實際有效匯率是升值的。』
