印尼央行（BI）表示，隨著全球油價持續下跌及政府實施調漲補貼燃油的措施，預估未來經常帳赤字情形可望逐步縮小，至今年年底為止，經常帳赤字將可縮小至國民生產毛額(GDP)的3%以下，印尼2013年經常帳赤字達到284億美元，相當於GDP的3.4%。

央行官員進一步表示，印尼為石油淨進口國，將可受益於油價下跌情形，國際油價每桶下跌1美元將可縮小經常帳赤字1.7億美元，目前國際原油每桶已跌破70美元，對於印尼經常帳赤字將有所改善。

根據資料顯示，印尼每日約需使用150萬桶原油，其中約50萬桶來自進口，預估2018年印尼將成為全球最大的油品進口國，油氣貿易逆差已導致印尼經常帳持續出現赤字。(資料來源：經濟部國貿局)
