國道中山高員林路段，1輛黑色自小客車變換車道不慎，導致中線白色轎車閃避不及翻車，又波及到外側車道的大貨車，造成後方5起連環事故，共14輛車追撞，所幸無人傷亡。

當時3線道都有車，原本行駛在內線車道的黑色自小客車，突然切到右線擦撞閃避不及的白色轎車，再波及外線車道的大貨車，白色轎車後擋風玻璃整片彈出，最後2車都失控翻覆在國道護欄上。

白色轎車與貨車司機，因為車速不快僅受輕傷。但突如其來的車禍，讓後方車輛反應不及，一連發生5起連環事故，共14輛車連環撞。

適逢國慶連假第一天，國道上車流量多，事故導致車輛回堵10多公里。黑色轎車司機，除了要繳400元罰單，還必須賠償白色轎車、大貨車的維修費用。
