14位英國將領　聯名反對蘇獨

在蘇格蘭獨立公投前一天（17日），英國軍隊的14位高級將領發表公開信，呼籲蘇格蘭選民不要在獨立公投投下贊成票，並稱英國分裂將削弱所有人的安全」。

這14位高級將領包括英軍前總參謀長、海軍前事務第一大臣、皇家空軍前司令。他們聯合發表的這封「致蘇格蘭人民的公開信」，認為獨立將破壞蘇格蘭和英國其它地區的國防。如英軍三叉戟核潛艇，目前部署在蘇格蘭法斯萊恩海軍基地。一旦蘇格蘭獨立，搬遷核潛艇基地對英國來說也是一項巨大挑戰。

在這14位高級將領之前，不少人都表達過對蘇格蘭獨立導致英國軍事實力下滑的擔憂。北約前秘書長羅伯森也表示，從地緣政治上講，西方世界第二大軍事強國在今年一分為二將是災難性的。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
