受水患所苦　房屋架高價格跟漲

英國伯克郡河畔的居民為防止水患，將房屋從地面抬高約1.5公尺，還因此讓房價提高不少。 　　

住在英國伯克郡河畔的居民經常受水患所擾，每逢1月房屋嚴重進水時，得需搬走暫避。其中一名居民58歲的伊夫里與家人住在位於泰晤士河與人工水道中間的獨棟房屋，靈機一動，決定動土「抬高」整座房屋，費時3個月的時間，花費7萬英鎊（約台幣350萬）費用，用28個電動千斤頂將房屋升起，然後在屋下安裝支撐鋼架，並用空心磚搭成穩固地基，將房屋升高離地約1.5公尺。 　　

伊夫里以1百萬英鎊（約台幣5千萬）買入該屋，由於受水患威脅，房價跌至75萬英鎊，如今改建後景觀更敞亮，價格據估計更因此升至2百萬英鎊（約台幣1億）。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
