尋求衛冕的西班牙隊，上半場26分鐘，雖然靠著前鋒迭戈寇斯塔Diego Costa帶球攻入禁區，造成對手絆倒，獲得12碼罰踢機會，再由西班牙中場阿隆索Xabi Alonso操刀，助西班牙1比0取得領先，但自此之後沒有再能得分。
 
反而是荷蘭越踢越順，靠著隊長范佩西Robin Van Persie和羅本Arjen Robben各進2球，以及德福萊Stefan de Vrij在禁區趁亂，幸運出腳破門，荷蘭5比1拿下勝利。
 
西班牙大比分落敗，使得B組狀況出現變化，未來西班牙對上智利或澳洲時，不能出現平手局面，否則極有可能遭到淘汰。（陳國偉／綜合報導）
