Google 開始測試量子電腦 D-Wave 2 的表現

量子電腦的用途，除了 NSA 正在探究之外，Google 也很感興趣。Google 宣佈他們完成了一些量子電腦的測試，結果發現他們的表現的確很好，但一定有其短處。他們發現如果以 D-Wave 2 和一些用作解決普通問題的電腦運行普通軟體的話，那前者的表現會比後者快 35,500 倍。不過當那些用作解決普通問題的電腦運行一些模擬量子電腦的程式碼之時，量子電腦的優勢就會消失，結果顯示 D-Wave 的硬體比較適合用作運行一些結構性的程序，而不是隨機問題。雖然如此，Google 相信未來的測試會使到 D-Wave 的優勢更為顯著，而未從的量子電腦理應會使到傳統電腦更難追上。
