《美國經濟》12月工業生產月增0.3%，符合預期

美國聯準會(FED)17日公佈2013年12月份工業生產指數符合預期，與前期相比，工業產出月增0.3%(年增3.7%)至101.8(2007年基期=100)，為連續第5個月上揚。

當月以製造業與礦業表現最為亮眼，產出分別月增0.4%與0.8%。至於公用事業指數則是下滑1.4%。

工業產能利用率雖然自前月的79.1%微幅上升至79.2%，但還是低於1972至2012年的長期平均值80.2%點。佔美國GDP比例12%的製造業產能利用率上升0.3個百分點至77.2%；礦業上升0.3個百分點至90.2%；公用事業下滑1.2個百分點至80.1%。

產能利用率是FED利率決策的參考指標之一，過低顯示企業設備被閒置、景氣偏弱，寬鬆貨幣政策將不會改變。反之，產能利用率若過高則有景氣過熱、通膨上升之虞，因此FED有可能升息調節景氣。
