全國蘭花暨花藝設計博覽會在臺中世貿中心揭幕，主辦單位特別結合中華蘭藝設計大賽於會場舉行決賽，最後由古文旻以白色蝴蝶蘭與白線編織成的「小公主的芭蕾夢想」脫穎而出，奪得冠軍及10萬元獎金。 本次主辦單位不惜重金結合蘭花藝術與創意，規劃各類的比賽，包括以「看見四季」為主題的景觀、融合「童趣」的櫥窗花藝設計，以及組合盆花與個體花的競賽，將蘭花的美麗及高雅帶給市民。台灣蘭花產銷發展協會祕書長曾俊弼表示，這場展覽光是花材就耗資新台幣兩千萬元，會場展出六百多個品種，共十幾萬株蘭花。台灣培植蘭花的強項在育種能力強，主辦單位表示，舉辦這場蘭展，一方面是要引領中部民眾進入繽紛多姿的蘭花世界，欣賞台灣蘭花產業的研發成果與迷人魅力，另一方面就是要讓業者相互觀摩取經，讓台灣蘭花產業更精進。 活動自即日起展至12日，在大型景觀造景區，主辦單位跳脫以往隔間展示的框架，邀集到18組曾在國際蘭展中表現優異的團體組景觀藝術家，別出心裁的以四葉巨大花瓣為一景的「花中花」呈現方式，主辦單位也特別貼心的在入口處以蘭花裝置藝術製作了一幅巨型相框，民眾可站在相框後「花」揮創意，擺出各種姿勢，拍下「心花怒放的幸福時刻」，創作別出心裁的賀年卡。
