尋找真命天子或真命天女是一條漫長且崎嶇的旅程，對男女而言能夠遇上「真愛」是每個人的夢想，不過，好姻緣是需要經過磨練以及耐心等候，而英國有一項調查指出，女性平均要談過7次戀愛，才能找到真命天子！

根據英國《每日郵報》（Daily Mail）報導，英國約會網站eHarmony針對自稱已經找到「真愛」的2千名男女進行調查，結果發現女性遇見「對的人」之前，總共平均經歷7次戀愛、心碎2次、親吻過15名男子以上，相反地，男性則是會有8次戀愛並親吻過16名女子以上。

另外，無論男女，找到人生最愛前最少都會背叛過對方一次，其中兩性最大的差別是男生在遇到真愛前，平均會有10名性伴侶、6次一夜情；女生則有7位性伴侶、4次一夜情。

不過，最值得注意的是，在現今年代最常見的就是速食戀愛，對於想要建立雙方穩定關係的人似乎少之又少，但這項調查卻顯示，目前的男性提早在22歲就會萌生想與對方建立穩定關係的想法，比起10年前早了許多。
