如果尼克戰績持續低迷，像撞上冰山的鐵達尼號，那麼甜瓜Carmelo Anthony棄船，不是不可能。問題來了，Melo棄船之後，會改搭哪艘豪華遊艇，航向總冠軍？

消息人士透露，如果甜瓜不待尼克，下一步會去大城市，因為他還得顧及多筆代言、以及投資事業，可能的去處會是快艇、公牛。

甜瓜在紐約、洛杉磯都有房子，要是去洛杉磯，比較不考慮湖人，因為湖人受限薪資空間，可能拿不出更好的合約，而且現在湖人教頭Mike D'Antoni，過去在尼克執教時，曾跟甜瓜意見不和，Melo應該不會想再為他效力。

至於公牛教頭Tom Thibodeau，則是甜瓜十分尊敬的一位教練。另外，快艇Chris Paul跟甜瓜是好兄弟，如果上演「甜瓜人生」第二季，CP3可能影響劇情走向。

消息人士爆料，「紐約之子」Stepho Marbury聖誕節進場看球，被尼克球迷質問，甜瓜看到這一幕心有戚戚焉，不想成為「下一個Marbury」。

過沒幾天，就有尼克球迷找上門來，在Melo推特要求這位球星「該更花心思去贏得總冠軍，支持你實在很失望。」
