過胖英航拒載 法國家庭受困芝加哥

一個赴美就醫的法國家庭表示，由於英國航空(British Airways)認為他們的兒子太胖不適合飛行，導致他們受困在芝加哥，幾乎彈盡糧絕、無計可施。

22歲的凱文．錢奈斯(Kevin Chenais)花了一年半的時間，在美國明尼蘇達州的梅約診所(Mayo Clinic)治療激素失調的問題，他因此瘦身至500磅(約227公斤)。

凱文的母親克莉絲汀娜(Christina Chenais)在向美國哥倫比亞廣播公司(CBS)的芝加哥分台形容他們一家的困境時，不禁老淚縱橫。她說，「這要怪罪英航，是他們把我們載來的，但現在卻拋下我們走了」。

已在機場旅館度過1週，幾乎把錢用光了的這家人，決定他們現在的唯一選擇，就是搭火車到紐約再乘「瑪麗皇后號」(Queen Mary)郵輪回法國。

凱文需要接受24小時的氧氣照護和醫療照顧，他說他相信很多跟他一樣、或是比他更胖的人，也因為相同的問題而無法旅行。

英航發言人則告訴CBS，他們的客戶服務小組已竭盡全力設法，但不幸的是，英航的任何飛機都不可能為這位旅客提供安全的飛行。
