 【朱俊彥／台中報導】2日下午近4時許，台中市立德派出所接獲通報，指有民眾將機車騎上復興路4段新時代購物廣場9樓，警員直覺上認為不可能發生，還打趣說「那我們也騎車上樓去查查」但到場後還真的發現有1名林姓男子，不聽保全人員勸阻，硬是將1部HONDA monkey 限量進口輕型機車搭電梯上到9樓。
 
林男向警方表示，他這部機車價值不菲，停放停車場恐有遭竊之虞，且該公司無代客泊車服務，擔心機車被偷，才經由電梯用腳划行騎上9樓，也沒發動引擎，只是將車子牽著逛百貨公司，不知為何不行。他向警方說明時，情緒略為激動，也引起大批逛街民眾圍觀及騷動，更有民眾大呼誇張，怎會有如此離奇的事發生。

因百貨公司屬私領域，警方無法依據道路交通管理事件條例告發，但仍耐心向林男說明溝通，時代購物廣場設有機車停車場，且為讓民眾保有安全的逛街環境，請其遵守相關規範，林男才同意由百貨公司人員陪同，護送該機車經由電梯下樓離去。
