【王文傑／花蓮報導】光復糖廠在11日及12日兩天舉辦「糖廠fun一下」旅遊活動，除有專人導覽百年糖廠風華，還有啃甘蔗、做焦糖比賽吸引遊客報名，一名60歲林姓阿伯啃削皮的甘蔗乾淨利落，就連硬如木棍的帶皮白甘蔗也是輕鬆嗑光，獲得滿堂喝采。他說，小時候沒糖吃，最愛偷拔甘蔗，早練出一口好牙，都沒假牙喔。
