外界猜測行政院長江宜樺未來是否可能投入選戰，江揆5日接受NOWnews.com《今日新聞》專訪表示，「在這麼繁忙的政務之中，坦白講，沒有一刻去思考選舉的問題」。

記者詢問，人們在職場上，總是力爭上游，江揆是否想過更上層樓，規劃參選？

江宜樺回應說，每個人都有一些理想，「我的理想是我在閣揆任內，留下影響深遠、福國利民的制度，這是我一輩子希望做到的事情」，包括人口、國土、教育、經濟發展、財政制度改革的各個面向。

江宜樺進一步回顧內政部長內任的政績說，當時推動不動產實價登錄制度，遏止不動產哄抬現象，去年上路後，大家也發現，豪宅的價格落差，這對區域房價有幫助。

江宜樺表示，他在內政部時，也被很多人問到參選問題，「我從來沒有參與選舉的念頭，現階段，行政院已經是最高行政機關，是個能做事的位子，而且還有很多挑戰是需要國家去面對的，我還期待什麼？」

江宜樺強調，不能辜負台灣社會給他的機會，這是回報給台灣社會最好的機會。「其他的事，我不會多想」。
