竹市驚見眼鏡蛇 專家:門口反貼膠帶防蛇

【楊勝裕／新竹報導】近日新竹市政府多次接獲民眾通報，指稱住家附近有眼鏡蛇出沒，新竹市消防局共捕獲五條眼鏡蛇，讓民眾提心吊膽。特有生物保育研究中心研究員陳元龍建議，每年4到5月及8到9月是眼鏡蛇活動的高峰期，因為蛇類喜歡棲息在草叢陰暗潮濕的地方，最喜歡吃老鼠，若是住家週圍環境雜亂，可能導致眼鏡蛇的躲藏，可加強環境清潔，維護住家衛生是基本的方法。他建議民眾可以在家裡門口的地板，反貼膠帶，讓有膠膜的那面朝上，蛇遭膠帶沾粘，就會逃之夭夭，不會進屋。
 
新竹市政府說，眼鏡蛇是保育類野生動物，但野生動物只要危及公共安全或人類性命時候，是可以獵捕的。請民眾不要過於恐慌。雖有民眾懷疑近來發現的眼鏡蛇有可能是不當放生產生的，但新竹市政府產業發展處人員向臨海區域幾位里長詢問，都沒有發現近期任何宗教團體有放生行為出現。
