美國聯準會(Fed)主席伯南克(Ben S. Bernanke)表示，日本並未操縱日元來為該國出口獲得競爭優勢，並稱其近來的貨幣政策為更廣泛策略的一部分。

今(17)日在眾議院金融委員會答覆問題時，伯南克為日本與中國兩國的貨幣政策做一區別。

他亦說，中國操縱人民幣匯率來令其低於市場價值。

伯南克表示：「日本方式有所不同。他們並未操縱他們的匯率，他們並不直接嘗試著將他們的匯率設定在某一水準。」

他又說：「日本變強對我們有利。日本正嘗試著擴張其整體經濟，因此有利也有弊存在。利則在於日本經濟更為強大，亞洲市場也會變強。」
